Minimum height is 40 inches. Travelers must be able to swim, cross rivers, walk on wet uneven ground, climb steps and a ladder, and follow the guide through confined cave passages.

Explore Actun Tunichil Muknal with a licensed guide who leads you through the jungle approach, river crossings, the cave entrance, and the protected Maya ceremonial chambers. The experience combines archaeology with an active wet-cave journey: expect swimming, walking on uneven rock, climbing, and close guidance around ancient pottery and human remains. About five hours are spent at the ATM site within an approximately 8-hour tour from Belize City. This shared experience is best for physically fit travelers who are comfortable in water and can follow strict conservation and safety instructions.

Actun Tunichil Muknal is a demanding guided cave expedition. After the road transfer, hike through the forest, cross streams, enter the cave, and spend up to five hours completing the approach, underground route, archaeological interpretation, safety procedures, and return to the activity base. Travelers must be comfortable with wet, slippery, and uneven conditions and must follow the licensed guide’s instructions.
