In southern Tanzania, on the north-west side of selous game reserve, lie two small, quite offbeat national parks: Mikumi national park, Udzungwa and Selous Game reserve. Mikumi is easily accessible by road, it support large number of elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, eland, impala, waterbuck, reedbuck, warthog, yellow baboon, lion, hyena, antelope and many species.

You will have picnic lunch on the way and the journey will take about 6hours through the most unexplored and untouched areas in Tanzania. The Mikumi flood plain is the main feature of the park along with the bordering mountain ranges. Animals commonly found here include lion, eland, hartebeest, buffalo, wildebeest, giraffe, zebra, hippo and elephant. The Mikumi elephants are mainly grazers and do not causes damage. To sleep inside the park will give you an opportunity of viewing animals all the time. Dinner and overnight will be at Mikumi Park cottage inside the Park.
