The catacombs of kom El shofaqa also known as the hill of treasure, regarded as a huge necropolis and royal cemetery that dates back to the second century AD. The necropolis has a unique mixture of Roman, Hellenistic and pharaonic art elements reflected in the paintings on the wall, and the style of the statues, funeral objects and tombs. The archaeological site was one of the seven wonders in the middle ages

The Roman Amphitheatre is one of Alexandria's most popular monuments. This is Egypt's second most important city, after the capital, Cairo. While the amphitheaters were spread throught different countries like Greece, Italy, and Turkey during the reign of the Romans with many examples of these structures still present in many regions around Europe and the Middle East, the Roman Amphitheatre of Alexandria is the only one of its type in Egypt.

Citadel) which is considered one of the most important defensive
strongholds, not only in Egypt, but also along the Mediterranean Sea coast.
Sultan Qaitbey built this picturesque fortress during the 14th century to defend Alexandria from the advances of the Ottoman Empire. His efforts were in vain since the Ottomans took control of Egypt in 1512, but the fortress has remained, strategically located on a thin arm of land that extends out into Alexandria’s harbor from the corniche.

Bibliotheca Alexandrina

Bibliotheca Alexandrina, research institution in Alexandria, Egypt, that took its inspiration from the Library of Alexandria of Classical times.
The idea of reviving the ancient library was first proposed in 1972 by Mostafa El-Abbadi, a professor at Alexandria University. The Egyptian government decided to sponsor the project, and it received international publicity and support through UNESCO. A site was selected adjacent to Alexandria University and near the location of the ancient library.

Pompey's Pillar
The pillar was built in 292 AD. as a glorification of the Roman emperor Diocletian. It was built by the people of Alexandria at the time, where the pillar was in the middle of the temple of Serapium above the hill of Bab Sedra and between the tombs of the Muslims and the plateau of Kom Al-Shoqafa.
